Heat-system guide

Infrared vs traditional saunas.

They should not be treated as interchangeable products. The heat source, room temperature, electrical load, construction and bathing experience differ.

Infrared cabins

Infrared models use emitters to deliver radiant energy while also warming the cabin environment. Product specifications may distinguish far-infrared systems from full-spectrum systems, and many consumer models advertise EMF categories or integrated red-light panels.

Traditional saunas

Traditional saunas heat the room with a sauna heater and stones. Water can be applied to properly designed sauna stones to produce bursts of steam and change perceived humidity. Heater output and room volume are central specifications when evaluating these systems.

Hybrid models

Hybrid products combine infrared emitters with a traditional heater or another heat system. Because hybrid designs vary substantially, compare the actual electrical and heater specifications rather than relying on the word “hybrid” alone.

Database rule: Infinite Sauna keeps “type,” “spectrum,” “heater,” “heater output” and “maximum temperature” as separate fields so a model can be compared without collapsing all of those concepts into one label.
