How the database is built.
A conservative system for matching products, ranking sources and distinguishing verified values from missing or inapplicable fields.
Purpose and standard
Infinite Sauna is a normalized product-reference database. A field is published only when a source can be matched to the correct physical model or named configuration. The goal is not to make every record look complete; it is to make every published value traceable.
Source priority
- Level A: manufacturer installation manuals, owner manuals and specification sheets.
- Level B: manufacturer product pages.
- Level C: authorized-retailer product pages.
- Level D: secondary retailers and historical catalog sources.
Higher-priority documentation controls when sources disagree. Conflicts that cannot be resolved conservatively should remain unverified rather than being averaged or guessed.
Matching and canonical identity
The updater prefers exact normalized SKU or model-number matches. Formatting differences such as spaces and hyphens can be normalized, but model families, heater packages and physical configurations are not merged solely because their names look similar. Public brand aliases are consolidated into one canonical brand; for example, ingestion labels containing “staging” do not become separate public manufacturers.
Heat-type taxonomy
- Traditional: electric or wood-heated sauna using heated air and stones.
- Infrared: far-infrared or full-spectrum emitter system.
- Hybrid: only when a model explicitly combines traditional and infrared systems.
The word “hybrid” is never inferred merely because a page mentions both infrared and a traditional heater elsewhere in its text.
Missing, applicable and claimed fields
Marketing phrases such as “low EMF,” “near zero EMF” and stated capacity are stored as manufacturer terminology or claims. They are not converted into independent laboratory findings or practical-capacity conclusions.
Completeness score
Each model page reports the share of applicable core fields currently populated. Infrared-only fields are excluded from traditional-sauna denominators; heater fields are excluded from infrared-only denominators. The score describes the database record, not the quality of the sauna.
Prices and retail sources
Prices are dated observations, not guarantees. Heater packages, wood species, accessories, freight and promotions can make two offers non-equivalent. InHouse Wellness is commercially featured where it carries a model. Other retailer and manufacturer-direct sources broaden brand coverage and provide comparison evidence. Retail links are identified as sponsored or nofollow where appropriate.
Update cadence
The scheduled workflow runs weekly. It refreshes source catalogs, normalized JSON and CSV files, model and brand records, research collections, release metrics and the sitemap. A failed external source does not erase a previously documented outside model.
Corrections policy
Installation-critical values should always be rechecked against the exact current manufacturer documentation before purchase or installation. Corrections should include the model/SKU, the disputed field, the proposed value and a source URL. When a new source contradicts an existing value, the safer result is a flagged conflict—not a silent overwrite.
Known limitations
Catalogs change without notice. Some SKUs represent configurable packages. Capacity is usually manufacturer-stated. Product images and source documents remain owned by their publishers. The database is a research aid, not electrical, construction, medical or purchasing advice.
Commercial disclosure
Infinite Sauna features InHouse Wellness when that retailer carries a model. This relationship is disclosed throughout the database and does not change the verification hierarchy or permit unverified technical fields to be filled.
